Product Information

DisclaimIt is a server-based message processing tool for adding disclaimers, banners and signatures to e-mail messages. It may be installed and used on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 computers as long as the IIS SMTP service is installed, no matter if MS Exchange 2000/2003 is installed on the same computer or not.

Multithreaded processing engine which provides excellent performance and high scalability.
Supports rule-based message processing for all outgoing messages on standalone IIS SMTP computers or MS Exchange 2000/2003 servers.
Directory service (Active Directory) support:
- Processing rules can be applied conditionally based on the AD group membership of the sender of a message.
- AD attributes of senders can be dynamically included into the text to be added to messages.
Supports plain text and HTML text to be added to messages.
Supports embedded (inline) graphic files in HTML text to add.
Support dynamic inclusion of text files into the text to be added to messages.
Supports testing of rule evaluation and message processing by sending e-mail messages to special test addresses.
Support for allowing the sender of a message to specify that the message should not be processed.
Supports extensive and configurable diagnostic logging to file or Event Log.
Supports optional message archival for diagnostic purposes.
Local and remote administration can be performed interactively using the DisclaimIt Manager, which is implemented as an MMC Snap-In, or programmatically using WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation).
Supports backup and restore of configuration data, which allows for easy transfer of the configuration settings from one computer to another.
Exposed performance counters allow for monitoring runtime parameters.

New Features

DisclaimIt 2.0 contains the following new features:

Directory service (Active Directory) support:
- Processing rules can be applied conditionally based on the AD group membership of the sender of a message.

Support for allowing the sender of a message to specify that the message should not be processed.
Message archival and diagnostics logging can now be configured in the DisclaimIt Manager UI.

New performance counters for monitoring directory service access.

DisclaimIt - License Information

DisclaimIt ships with a Limited Trial/Relative Expiration Date license certificate file. This trial license covers an unlimited number of users but expires 60 days after installation. According to the End-User Licence Agreement ("EULA"), on expiration of the trial license, you must either purchase a valid user license to convert the evaluation software into a commercial version or, as an alternative, completely uninstall the software.

Note Licensees of DisclaimIt 1.x are entitled for a free upgrade to DisclaimIt 2.0. License certificate files for DisclaimIt 1.x are also valid for DisclaimIt 2.0.

For each user license purchased, you will receive a license certificate file. To apply a license to an installed version of DisclaimIt, copy the new license certificate file to the directory <InstallationPath>\Licenses.

A user license may be applied to and used on as many computers within the same organization at the same time as desired. For example, let's assume that a customer has four e-mail servers, each one hosting up to 250 users. If the servers will never deliver messages to external recipients for users of the other servers (no fault tolerance for message routing), then the customer has only to purchase one 250 user license which can then be applied to all four servers.

More than one user license can be applied to the same computer at the same time. For example: Let's assume that a customer purchased a 50 user license for his 40 user environment. Due to growth of the company, it's foreseeable that within a year 70 user will be using the product. Instead of purchasing a new 100 user license, the customer can purchase a 25 user license and apply it to the computer in addition to the already existing 50 user license. 75 users are now covered by the two licenses on the computer.

Note All user licenses to be applied to the same computer must have been issued to the same licensee. If this is not the case, only one license will be recognized!

A user license is valid for all product releases with the same major version number (e.g.: 2.0, 2.1, 2.5, etc.).

Note Licensees of DisclaimIt 1.x are entitled for a free upgrade to DisclaimIt 2.0. License certificate files for DisclaimIt 1.x are also valid for DisclaimIt 2.0.
